NEW Transgenic Sf9 Cells
superSf9 Cells
Go to Oxford Expression Technologies websiteThe superSf9 cells are transgenic insect Sf9 cells that have been engineered to stably express an additional protein. The presence of this protein leads to prolonged longevity and increased recombinant protein production in baculovirus infected superSf9 cells compared to standard Sf9 cells. The key features to note about these cell lines are:
  Modified insect Sf9 cells stably expressing a stabilising protein
  Prolonged longevity of cells after infection with baculovirus
  Up to 15-fold increase in protein yield as compared to standard Sf9 cells
 
Each superSf9 cell line has slightly different characteristics to help to enhance the expression of different types of recombinant proteins:
  superSf9-1 cell line offers a much prolonged expression time that greatly enhances the yield of stable proteins. These cells are suitable for intracellular, membrane and secreted proteins, provided that these proteins are not subject to degradation.
  superSf9-2 cell line features an intense peak of recombinant protein production which makes them ideal for increasing the yield of toxic or highly unstable proteins.
  superSf9-3 cell line has a phenotype intermediate between the superSf9-1 and superSf9-2 cells and is a good choice for proteins of mixed or unknown character.

In addition to the choice of either adding a C-Terminal or N-Terminal 6xHis-Tag® fusion sequences, these four new vetors share the same characteristics as the other pOET vectors.
